Strengthening Bahrain-India Economic Ties

Bahrain and India share a strong and multifaceted relationship characterized by political, economic, and cultural ties, with significant cooperation in trade, defense, and people-to-people connections.

Economic Cooperation

The economic relationship between Bahrain and India is robust, with bilateral trade reaching USD 1.64 billion in 2024-25. Both nations are currently negotiating a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) and a Bilateral Investment Treaty (BIT) to facilitate trade and investment. The discussions also include a Double Taxation Avoidance Agreement (DTAA) to eliminate tax overlaps and promote business expansion.
